Xylor Jane: Notebooks

Xylor Jane

Xylor Jane: Notebooks is a hybrid artist’s book and drawing monograph of works from the mid-2000s to the present by Massachusetts–based painter Xylor Jane (born 1963). Xylor Jane's often brightly colored, immaculately constructed paintings are based on or derived from numbers and other systems of order. The works are informed by a drawing activity that is as much about notating her daily life as it is about comprehending the role of numbers and their history. This book is the first to focus on the drawings and notes, sequenced by the artist herself, with essays by John Yau and Em Rooney. Published by Canada & parrasch heijnen gallery.
